Making A Candle From A Stick Of Butter

By on June 13, 2014

Most people probably wouldn’t think of butter as a flammable substance but holy cow! No pun intended…in this presentation, you’ll learn how to turn a simple stick of butter into an emergency candle that will burn for hours.

You’ll only need a piece of toilet paper, 4 ounce stick of butter, and a skewer or toothpick. The toothpick or skewer will be used to poke a hole through your stick of butter for the wick placement. You’ll want to cut your 4 ounce stick of butter into two halves so be sure to have a knife available. The two 2 ounce emergency candles that you create will burn for approximately four hours – one hour per tablespoon. You can put your candle in a glass to help keep the flame steady.

This might provide the light you need in the event of an all too common power outage. Make your dairy powered candle today! Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
