Pepper Spray

David and Tricia from the Sabre Red Personal Safety Academy discuss how to properly use pepper spray as a self defense mechanism when attacked by an intruder. Pepper spray helps protect you and your family from a safe distance.

Here is a list of some of the advantages of pepper spray:

  • Even a small can has a range up to ten feet.
  • Having pepper spray with you is a small reminder to stay alert and be aware of your surroundings.
  • One canister has multiple shots allowing you to protect yourself from more than one intruder at the same time.
  • It does not require a lot of size or strength to use pepper spray.
  • You do NOT have to wait for the situation to justify lethal force before you’re able to use it.

NOTE: A typical canister of pepper spray contains twenty-five shots. It is important to familiarize yourself with the canister of pepper spray. Practice holding it so that the nozzle is pointed in the right direction. Have your eyes open and be alert when you use it on an intruder. Make sure your canister is accessible at all times. It doesn’t do you any good to have it buried in the bottom of your purse during an attack. Always have it in your hand. Always have a firm grip on your pepper spray so that the intruder cannot take it away from you. And lastly, please keep it out of reach of children.
